Paul Mines talks bioplastics with Morgan Stanley

The future is already happening somewhere. It’s just a matter of where to find it.

At Biome, we are continuously striving to make bioplastics the new industry norm. So we were delighted when Morgan Stanley reached out and asked us to be a part of their Ideas Podcast episode dedicated to the future of plastics.

In a focused twenty minutes, ‘Polymers from Potatoes’ lays out the basis for understanding our current plastic problem. Morgan Stanley’s Vincent Andrews details how oil-based plastic has become such an integral part of our daily lives, while Waste Dive’s Cole Rosengren and Rubicon Global’s David Rachelson explain the limits of recycling systems.

The most effective plastics solutions might not involve the plastics we have come to know.

The episode concludes with our CEO Paul Mines giving an easy-to-understand introduction to bioplastics, while highlighting how they can be one of the answers to the issue of single-use plastic waste.
